PSEF 2026 focuses on strengthening sustainable pharmaceutical and biologics manufacturing ecosystems across Africa and brings together governments, manufacturers, international organizations, development agencies, financing institutions, and technology providers. IMeBIO is proud to be part of this year's edition.

A Continent Still Dependent on Imported Vaccines
Africa still imports the vast majority of the vaccines it uses, a dependency that was sharply exposed during the COVID-19 pandemic. In response, the African Union and Africa CDC have set a target of producing 60% of the continent's vaccine needs locally by 2040, backed by a growing set of financing and procurement mechanisms. Reaching that target depends not only on capital and regulatory reform, but on the physical infrastructure where production, quality control and research actually take place.

PSEF 2026: Mobilizing the Private Sector in Cairo
We are proud to take part in the 3rd edition of this forum, taking place from 18 to 20 June 2026 in Cairo, Egypt, co-convened by the World Health Organization and the EU Global Gateway, with support from Bundesministerium für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung (BMZ) and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH. The forum brings together manufacturers, international organizations, financing institutions and health stakeholders working to strengthen sustainable vaccine and pharmaceutical manufacturing across Africa.

IMeBIO Takes the Floor
Francesco Ascione, Export Sales Director at IMeBIO, represents the company as a speaker in the session "Private Sector Showcase, Enabling Manufacturing: Suppliers, Equipment & Raw Materials" on 19 June at 15h45.

Why this event matters to us
✳️ Africa has been a key region for IMeBIO for many years, with laboratory and biocontainment projects supporting public health and research capacities across the continent.
✳️ As local vaccine and pharmaceutical manufacturing expands, infrastructure remains a critical foundation for sustainable growth.
✳️ PSEF 2026 provides an opportunity to exchange with partners shaping the future of Africa's health manufacturing ecosystem.

Our Infrastructure Solutions
Local production ambitions rely on the infrastructure that hosts manufacturing and research. IMeBIO designs and delivers mobile and modular laboratories, biocontainment facilities and cleanrooms that support research, quality control and pharmaceutical production activities. Through rapid deployment, scalable solutions and long-term technical support, we help build the environments that local manufacturing depends on.
